The main features that Allah attributes to Quran are its Perfection, its Inimitability, and its Preservation.
The Perfection is indicated in verses 18:1 “Praise be to Allah Who sent down the scripture to His servant, and made no distortion in (to) it”, and 39:38 “An Arabic Quran, that has no distortion”. Yet, the first word of the first verse of the first chapter is written in a grammatically “irregular” way. Many other elements in Quran present textual oddities that could contradict the statements of the two verses above (see blog Questions about Quran).
But those “irregularities” are not errors. They are intentionally placed there by Allah to attract our attention to the fact that it is not to the text itself that the perfection applies, but to something else that already exists in Quran, remained undetected for 14 centuries, and was not unveiled until recently.
The Inimitability of Quran makes it such that no power other than Allah’s could have either produced it, or come up with something similar. 17:88 “If the humans and the Jinns got together in order to produce a similar book, they would not have been able to, even if they helped each other”. Here again, it is not the text that couldn’t be imitated.
The Preservation of the integrity of the divine word is of crucial importance. If we do not have absolute certainty, supported by solid and provable evidence, in the scripture we base our faith upon, then we are building our hopes for a future life on uncertain ground. “We indeed made Quran come down, and We will indeed preserve (protect) it” 15:9.

Les caractéristiques principales qu’Allah attribue au Coran sont sa Perfection, son Inimitabilité, et sa Préservation.
La Perfection est indiquée aux versets 18:1 “Louange soit à Allah Qui a fait descendre l’Écriture (Sainte) à son serviteur, et n’a pas fait en elle de distortion”, et 39:38 “Un Coran Aarabe, qui n’a pas de distortion”. Cependant, le premier mot du premier verset du premier chapitre est écrit d’une façon grammaticalement irrégulière. Beaucoup d’autres éléments du Coran offrent des aspects textuels étranges, qui pourraient contredire les déclarations des deux versets cités ci-dessus. (voir blog “Questions au sujet du Coran”).
Mais ces “irrégularités” ne sont pas des erreurs. Elles ont été placées là intentionnellement, pour attirer notre attention sur le fait que ce n’est pas au texte lui-même que la notion de perfection s’applique, mais à quelque chose d’autre qui est dejà dans le Coran, qui est restée cachée pendant 14 siècles, et qui n’a été dévoilée que récemment.
L’Inimitabilité du Coran fait en sorte qu’aucun autre pouvoir que celui d’Allah n’aurait été capable de le produire ou de l’imiter. 17:88 “Si les humains et les Génies se mettraient ensemble pour produire un livre similaire, ils n’en seraient pas capables, même s’il s’aidaient mutuellement”.
La Préservation de l’intégrité de la parole divine est d’une importance primordiale. Si nous n’avons pas de certitude absolue, supportée par une évidence solide et prouvable, en l’Écriture Sainte sur laquelle nous basons notre foi, nous batirions donc nos espoirs de vie future sur un terrain instable. 15:9 “C’est vraiement Nous qui avons fait descendre le Rappel, et c’est Nous Qui le préserverons”.
